Harford County Is Growing at a Remarkable Rate
Thousands of families moved here recently because of Base Realignment and Closure activities at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Thousands of other households moved here because they desire a higher quality of living. Over 80 companies have relocated to Harford County because of the opportunities presented by the growth of science and technology and the county is rapidly become one of the country’s primary research and development centers.
Managed well, this growth will provide unprecedented opportunities for the next several generations of Harford Countians.

The town of Havre de Grace sits right at the mouth of the Susquehanna River, where it flows into the Chesapeake Bay. Havre de Grace offers many recreational opportunities, and is home to a burgeoning science and technology community in Harford County.
Harford County’s Kilgore Falls, Maryland’s second highest vertical drop waterfall, is part of Rocks State Park, a 855-acre forested recreation area enjoyed by residents of the area. Rocks State Park offers many hiking opportunities, include a trail to the King and Queen Seat, once a ceremonial gathering place of the Susquehannock Indians.
Waters Edge is an office complex located in eastern Harford County right near Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). It is home to many of the region’s defense contracting firms. Waters Edge is one of many new office complexes in Harford County. In just the past few years, 3 million square feet of laboratory and office space was added on APG and about 5 million square feet of projects are underway commercially.
